The Hon Justice Ann Ainslie-Wallace was admitted to the NSW Bar in December of 1978 and practised as a barrister until her appointment to the bench of the District Court of NSW in July 1997.
As a judge of the District Court of NSW her Honour presided over both Criminal and Civil trials and held a commission as a Deputy Chair of the NSW Medical Tribunal. She is a Council member of the Australian Institute of Judicial Administration, a member of the Australasian Institution of Judicial Administration and a member of the Australian and International Associations of Women Judges.
Her Honour is a Director and Chair of the Board of the Australian Advocacy Institute (AAI) and has been a member of the teaching faculty of that Institution since its inception in 1991. She is a Faculty member of the Advanced International Advocacy Course, Keble College Oxford and her work with The Honourable Society of Inner Temple London has included instructing at the New Practitioners Advocacy Workshop, 2013, 2015, 2016. She has instructed at the AAI Advanced Teacher Training Program, UK Advocacy Training Council in London 2013 and at the AAI workshop on Advocacy for Victims of War Crime, International Criminal Court, The Hague 2013.
