Michael Hodge

Michael came to the bar in 2004 and was appointed silk in 2017. He has a commercial practice with a focus on competition law and consumer protection, economic regulation, corporations law and financial services, equity and trusts, and resources and commercial development disputes. Michael is listed by Doyle’s Guide as a recommended senior counsel in competition law and in commercial litigation.

Michael has also appeared in or assisted with several commissions of inquiry and public reviews. In 2018, Michael was one of the senior counsel sssisting the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. He was also counsel assisting the Grantham Floods Commission of Inquiry in 2015 and counsel assisting the Strachan Inquiry in 2016-2017. He was retained by the Queensland Government to assist with the review of the Queensland Parole System in 2016 and the review of the Transport of Waste into Queensland in 2017.
