Can Symposium 2018 CPD points be carried forward to the 2018/19 CPD year?

If you already have 10 CPD points (including a point for each of the three core CPD areas) for the 2017/18 CPD year, which closes on 31 March 2018, you can carry your Symposium CPD points forward to the 2018/19 CPD year. Please remember that points obtained from one event cannot be split across CPD years. If you don’t have 10 CPD points (including a point for each of the three core CPD areas) then points gained at Symposium will automatically be part of your record for 2017/18. You can keep a record of your CPD points by simply logging on the QLS website and updating your member record with details of your CPD activity.

How do I register for Symposium 2018?

Symposium 2018 registration is available on the QLS website.

What networking opportunities are available?

Law on the Lawn will be available inside the exhibition providing delegates, presenters and chairs a unique space to mingle, interact and network.

Following Day 1 of Symposium, the Legal Profession Dinner and Awards evening (replacing Symposium by Night function) will be held from 6:30pm. The QLS president will address the profession and detail their commitments and aspirations for 2018, and announce the winners of QLS awards including President’s Medal, Innovation in Law, CLC Member of the Year, Honorary Life Member and several new award categories.

Can I share my registration with others?

No. Each registration is limited to one delegate only and cannot be shared, i.e. two individuals cannot swap between sessions and/or days.

Can I transfer my registration?

Registration is transferable prior to the commencement of Symposium. All transfer of registration requests must be submitted in writing to events@qls.com.au for approval, prior to 6 March 2018 (registration close date).  Registration is transferable to a substitute delegate, recording or alternate event.

Can I cancel and refund my registration?

Registration may be cancelled and a refund issued, less a $50 administration fee, up to five business days prior to the registration close date.

Cancellations received within five business days of an event but prior to the registration closing date will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the registration fee.

Cancellations received after the registration closing date will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the registration fee.

Delegates who fail to attend an event without prior notification will forego the entire registration fee. Cancellation and refund requests due to exceptional circumstances such as sudden illness or injury, for example, will be considered. Such requests should be forwarded in writing, as soon as practicable, to events@qls.com.au.
